Prior to joining BB&T Capital Partners, Matt worked with SunTrust Equity Partners (STEP), the private equity arm of SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI). During his tenure at STEP, Matt was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing private equity co-investments and fund commitments as a part of SunTrust's $850 million private equity program. Before joining SunTrust, he worked in corporate banking for Wachovia (formerly First Union) where he underwrote leveraged loans to middle market companies.
