Prior to forming BB&T Capital Partners in 1997, David was an investment banker in the Atlanta office of Stephens, Inc., where he provided merger, acquisition, and financing advisory services to both public and private companies.

At Stephens, Inc., David was also involved in direct equity investments of the firm's capital for growth and buyouts. Before joining Stephens, Inc., David was with Ernst & Young, LLP's Corporate Finance group where he provided merger and acquisition advisory services to companies in a variety of industries including healthcare, automotive, tobacco, and specialty chemicals.

Education

• BA in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
• MBA with concentrations in finance and accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
